CFO/Senior Funeral Director

Tyson McLane is the son of Carson and Philena McLane. Carson started working in funeral service in Valdosta on April 1, 1928. Then in 1936, Carson established Carson McLane Funeral Home. Tyson began working for the company in the summer of 1955 when the company's ambulance service helped transfer patients from Little-Griffin Hospital (which was closing) to the newly opened Pineview General Hospital (now South Georgia Medical Center). He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Tyson bought Riverview Memorial Gardens in 1979.

Tyson graduated from Valdosta High School, attended Valdosta State College (now VSU), graduated from the University of Georgia, and graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. In 1967, Tyson married the former Mary Sue Zipperer and they have three children - Britt, Kyle and Flynn. He also has eleven grandchildren.

Tyson has been committed to give back to the community in numerous ways. He has been a long time Sunday School teacher at Crossroads Baptist Church and has been Chairman of the Deacons there. He has been Chairman of the Valdosta State University Foundation, Chairman of the Valdosta/Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Valdosta Rotary Club, and was named a Distinguished Citizen by the local Boy Scout council. He is past president of the band boosters for the Lowndes High Georgia Bridgemen. He was a national director of Selected Independent Funeral Homes and a member of the National Funeral Directors Association.

Tyson and Mary Sue are now residents of Lake Park. He enjoys photography, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family. He is grateful for the trust and confidence that the community has given to him, his family and his staff over many years.

Tommy served and ministered to numerous families and generations of families in his 34-year career in funeral service. He was also a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church, singing in the choir and serving on the Historical committee. Listening to Southern Gospel music was also a favorite pastime. Tommy was a devoted husband, father and an especially loving grandfather, spending time with his pride and joy, his grandson Wesley. He took pride in his family, his work and was always desiring to please and serve others.

Tommy passed away in July 2022.

Gregg was a dedicated husband, father, brother, son, and friend. A 1985 graduate of Glynn Academy, he received a BS degree from Armstrong State University in 1990. Gregg and his brother Kevin were introduced to the game of golf as young boys by their father Randy. Thus began a life-long love of the game, which led to his certification as a golf instructor and a PGA golf professional. He served as the head Golf Professional at several nationally recognized courses, including the Sea Island Golf Club and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Greenville, Alabama. Additionally, he worked as an instructor at The Cloister at Sea Island; throughout his career, he enjoyed teaching all levels of the golf game. Most recently, Gregg worked as a prearrangement counselor at Carson McLane Funeral Home. A quiet, thoughtful individual, Gregg will be missed by those friends and family members who appreciated his straightforward and to-the-point thinking. He enjoyed the outdoors, befitting a man who spent many satisfying hours on the golf course, and appreciated an afternoon spent fishing in a quiet spot. He also enjoyed watching football and spending quality time with family and friends. In his youth, Gregg was baptized at Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia and was currently a member of the Porch Community Church.

Gregg passed away in September 2022.
