Yates Holland “Bud” McDade, Jr., 71, of Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 27, 1946 in Forest City, NC to the late Yates Holland McDade, Sr., and Annie Mae Henson McDade. He was a graduate of Spindale High School class of 1964 and Gardner Webb College in 1965. Bud was a drummer with “Windsor Brothers”. He moved to Lowndes County in late 1969 and was the manager of Midas Muffler, and retired from Voights Sheet Metal. Bud has been a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church since 1978.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Casey and Stephen Thompson, and his grandchildren Lauren Thompson, and Ethan Thompson, all of Lake Park, his sister Maxine McDade Norris, of Valdosta, and his nieces and nephews, Robert Dinkins, III, of Naylor, Robin Dinkins Phillips, of Fairfield, CT, Stuart Dinkins, Tony Dinkins, both of Naylor, Bobby McGinnis, and Eddie McGinnis, both of Forest City, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty (McDade) McGinnis.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Francis Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
