Wonda Faye Arnold

November 12, 1945 — April 7, 2024

Valdosta, GA

Wonda Faye Arnold, 78, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.  She was born on November 12, 1945, in Lake Park to the late James Everett “Red” Hall and Rena Lavirl Zipperer Hall and has been a resident of the local area her whole life.  Mrs. Arnold served as an LPN at South Georgia Medical Center from 1966-1979 and then began, along with her husband, Charles, C&W Cleaning and Lawn service of which they both owned and operated for close to 30 years and some of her regular customers became like her family.  She loved spending time with her family and had been very involved in her children’s activities at school while they were growing up from serving as president and volunteer leader with the 4H club, serving as band chaperone, and so many other venues of service too numerous to name.  Needless to say, she put her family and friends above herself and especially her grandchildren where she would teach them about making clothes and many other life skills. Mrs. Arnold was a former active member of Forrest Street United Methodist of Valdosta for 30 years. She was involved with numerous activities including planning mother/daughter banquets, Sunday School teacher, and youth events. She is currently a member of First United Methodist Church of Valdosta.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Larena and James Young of Valdosta, Elizabeth and Tim Curfman of Hahira, and Heather and Robert Pate of Perry; her grandchildren, Bryce Arnold, Anna Arnold, Jordan Young, Justin Young, Selena Curfman, Ashlynn Curfman, Sarah Pate, Madison Pate, and Kinsey Pate; great-grandchildren, Jayci, Leilani, and Oaklynn; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Guest Hall and Judy Wells Hall; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded by her husband, Charles W. Arnold; her son, Everett Arnold; a grandchild, Leah Pate; siblings and spouses, Sherman and Madelyn Hall, James Ludy Hall, Verlon Lowell Hall, JoAnn and James Hartman, Margery and Elwood Stephens.

Services for Wonda Faye Arnold will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at First Methodist Church of Valdosta with the Rev. Dr. Anthony McPhail and Bro. Cleo Hughes officiating.  The burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.   Carson McLane.
