Winona Jean Dill Bellinger

WINONA JEAN DILL BELLINGER, 67, of Valdosta died Saturday, August 5, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Brunswick on September 15, 1938 to Winona Johnson Dill and the late Eugene Steed Dill and moved to Valdosta in 1961. Mrs. Bellinger graduated in 1956 from Glynn Academy in Brunswick attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and graduated in 1960 from the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing. Mrs. Bellinger was retired from Valdosta Mental Health Clinic and South Georgia Medical Center. She was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Winona Anne Hodges of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Charles Augustus Hodges, III and Rose Marie Crooks Hodges of Marietta, William Alexander Hodges and Alayne Schimmenti Hodges of Austin, TX., her grandchildren, Caitlin Anne Hodges, Alexandra Michelle Hodges, Charlotte Michelle Hodges, Teresa Grace Hodges and Melvin Nelson Levers III, her mother, Winona Johnson Dill of St. Simons Island, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Bellinger, Sr. and her father, Eugene Steed Dill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at First Christian Church with Dr. Milton West officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Bellinger will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
