Winifred Catherine “Winnie” Richard, 102, of Valdosta, died on September 6, 2004, at home at Langdale Place. Born in Bathgate, Scotland, on October 22, 1901, “Winnie” was the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth Reilly Conway. Formerly of Del Ray Beach, Florida and Dearborn, Michigan, she was a homemaker and widow of the late Arthur Patrick Richard. Mrs. Richard was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Valdosta.. An accomplished artist in oils, water colors and china painting, she was a member of the International China Painters and many other artist associations in Michigan, Florida and Georgia.

Survivors are her children, Leona M. Toal of Edison, Marilyn Buchsieb of Green Valley, Arizona, Maureen Connell of Harwinton, Connecticut, Suzanne Russell of The Villages, Florida, and a son, Patrick A.Richard of Edison; nineteen grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Corrine Richard.

A memorial celebration of her life was held on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father John O’Brien officiating. Donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Richard to Hospice of South Georgia, PO Box 1727, Valdosta, GA., 31603-1727 or Good Shepherd Foundation, PO Box 835, Edison, GA., 39846. Carson McLane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
