Wilma T. Blackmon

Wilma T. Blackmon, 75, of Hahira, died on Monday, April 9, 2007 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Hahira, to the late Hobson K. and Louise Tomlinson, she had been a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Blackmon worked for Queen Carpet Manufacturing Plant in Valdosta and retired there after over 30 years of service. She also enjoyed crocheting and quilting very much and was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. Mrs. Blackmon was a member of the New Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Hahira.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Danny and Liz Blackmon, of Barney; her daughter and son in law, Joy and Terry Reilly of Winter Park, FL; two sisters and a brother in law, Betty and C.P. Powell of Valdosta, and Alma Worth of Winter Park, FL; five grandchildren, Chad (Paige) Talbott of Northbridge, MA, Amanda (Calvin) Hawke of Hahira, Wendy (Patrick) McGuire of Orlando, FL, Christin Talbott of Winter Park, FL, Josh Blackmon of Atlanta; 7 great grandchildren, Morgan and Dylan Roberts, and Dalton Hawke, all of Hahira, Bailey and Elise Talbott of Northbridge, MA, and Matthew and Connor McGuire of Orlando, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Blackmon is preceded in death by her husband, D.W. Blackmon, a brother, Kenneth Tomlinson and infant daughter, Susan Blackmon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Blackmon will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home. Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Bob Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira.
