William Vaughn Irby, Sr.

William Vaughn Irby, Sr., 78, of Valdosta died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the home of his son in Lawrenceville. He was born in Unadilla, Georgia on September 1, 1932 to the late Harrison Vaughn and Elizabeth Bishop Irby and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Irby owned and operated Vaga Amusement Company. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Irby was very involved in the Valdosta High School Band Boosters for many years.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, William Vaughn Irby, Jr. of Dallas, GA., Richard and Sandy Irby of Lawrenceville, GA., three grandchildren, Kyle Irby, Kristen Irby and Harrison Irby, two sisters and brothers in law, Carol and Robert Camp of Winder, GA. and Sue and Allen DeLoach of Vidalia, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Cannon Irby and a daughter in law, Linda McDonald Irby.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with his son, Richard Irby officiating.
