William Thomas Mason, Jr.

William Thomas Mason, Jr., 73, of Valdosta, died on Monday, December 20, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Born in Annapolis, Maryland on July 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Helen and William T., Mason, Sr. Mr. Mason was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Mason was a Christian.

Survivors are his wife, Loretta Fay Mason of Valdosta; sons and daughters in law, John D. (Deborah) Mason of Valdosta, William Thomas (Dafne) Mason, III of Panama City, Florida, David W. (Crystal) Mason of Hannibal, New York; grandchildren, Genevieve J. Mason, John D. Mason, Jr. of Valdosta, Mary M. (Megan) Mason, Jerri E. Mason, Anna N. Mason of Oswego, New York, William Thomas Mason IV of Ft. Huachucha, Arizona, Christina L. (Brian) Herndon of Hahira, Jeff (Karen) Bailey of Thomasville, David M. Fennell of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Haiden Hall of Thomasville, Hailey Herndon of Hahira, Michael Herndon of Hahira, Brailyn Bailey of Thomasville; brothers and sisters in law, Ralph F. (Nancy) Mason of Wilmington, North Carolina, Robert L. (Linda) Mason of Daly City, California, sisters and brothers in law, Helen (James) Palmer of Lumberton, North Carolina, Susan P. (John) Wright of Savannah and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Mason was preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Joan (Paul) Moreland of Wilmington, North Carolina, grandson, Christopher M. Mason of Valdosta and a nephew, Richard Moreland of Burlington, North Carolina.
