William Robert Edmands, 72, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Holly Hill Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Brighten, Massachusetts on January 7, 1944 to the late Vaughn F. and Harriett Sobey Edmands. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Viet Nam where he was awarded the Air Medal, the Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. He had been employed with Globe Ground North America and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Hope Murko-Martin and Robert Martin of Newkirk, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Lauren and Emma; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jacqueline and Ralph Murrell of Newport, Tennessee and Yvonne and Lenny Regione of Sommerville, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edmands will be cremated according to his wishes and a private inurnment will be held at a later date at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com Carson McLane.
