William Robert Childs Sr.

William Robert Childs, Sr., 88, of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Lowndes County, died Saturday October 4, 2008 at Northside-Forsyth Hospital in Cumming. Born in Berrien County to the late Robert Lee and Ruthie Sealey Childs, Mr. Childs was a retired electrician. He was a World War II Veteran receiving the Purple Heart, and a member of Azalea Masonic Lodge No 716.

Mr. Childs is survived by his: son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Glenda Childs of Cumming; daughter, Sharon Cowart of Lake Park; eight (8) Grandchildren and six (6) Great Grandchildren. Mr. Childs was preceded in death by his wife Nellie Childs in May of 2005.

Funeral services well be held at eleven 11 AM Tuesday, October 7 at Lake Park Church of God with Reverend Keith Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, GA. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
