William Robert (Bobby) Woodruff

William Robert (Bobby) Woodruff, 47, of Mayday, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Bobby was born on April 5, 1964 in Valdosta, a son of Virginia Allen Woodruff and the late M.B. (Bill) Woodruff. He was a life long resident of Mayday and attended Macedonia Baptist Church. Bobby loved spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking.

In addition to his mother, Virginia Allen Woodruff of Mayday, he is survived by three brothers and a sister, Randall Woodruff and family friend Teresa Mathis of Valdosta, Julianna Woodruff and Vijay Saigal of Shreveport, LA, Jerry Strickland and wife Catherine of Baxley, and Norman Strickland and wife Carol of Mayday; nieces and nephews, Michael Woodruff and wife Robyn of Valdosta, Dane Woodruff of Orlando, FL, Poppy Kroese and husband Mike of PA, Becky Bourquine and husband Stacy of Hahira, Allen Strickland and wife Roni of Valdosta, and Dusty Strickland and wife Kerri of Mayday; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; his constant companion, Walkerdog; a dedicated friend, Johnny Pike of Hahira; and many more family and friends, too numerous to mention, that will miss Bobby. He was preceded in death by his father, M.B. (Bill) Woodruff; a half-brother, Maurice Woodruff; and a beloved sister-in-law, Hellen Woodruff.

Funeral Services for Bobby will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
