William “Al” Rawlings, III, 53, of Valdosta, died suddenly on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Al was born to the late William Alton Rawlings, Jr. & Song Hui “Annie” Rawlings, in Dublin GA, and grew up there, Graduating from Dublin High School in 1989. He then went to Valdosta State University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He went on to get his MBA from Brenau University. The Rawlings lived briefly in Kingsland GA, and then Gwinnett County before moving to Valdosta to raise their family in 2001. Al worked as an accountant for many years, most recently at The Mailbox Club. Al loved the Lord and served him in many capacities at Redland Baptist Church. Al was a deacon at Redland, went on multiple mission trips to Honduras, used his cooking passion to help in the church kitchen every Wednesday night, participated in many community day events, and served at Camp Rock.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Rawlings, of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ryan & Hannah Rawlings of Jacksonville, FL, and William Rawlings of Valdosta; a brother, Danny Rawlings of Valdosta and a nephew, Harley Rawlings of Albany.
The funeral for Al will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Redland Baptist Church. Rev. Jay Watkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 am until service time. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Redland Baptist Church, 4888 Rocky Ford Road, Valdosta, GA 31601.
