William David Price, 74, of Lake Park, died on Monday, September 2, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born on August 7, 1950, in Gainesville, Florida to the late William D. Price, Sr., and Ruth Henderson Akins. David Price was a devout minister of God’s infallible word for 51 years. He pastored and evangelized in Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. He retired from full time ministry with the Church of God as the State Ministries coordinator in 2017. David loved his family and had a nickname for each of his children and grandchildren. He was well known for being able to quote scripture like one has never seen and many called him a legend for it. He loved hunting and fishing but loved worshipping in the house of God more than anything. He was also known for his sense of humor which became his trademark and never failed to make everyone laugh no matter the situation. He leaves his family with nothing but memories of a Godly husband, father and grandfather, and brother that they will cherish all the days of their lives. No one will ever take his place. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Statenville Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Debbie Price of Lake Park; his son and daughter-in-law, David (Side) and Krystal Price; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Todd Barrett and Angie and Robbie Leggett; his grandchildren and their spouses, Tyler and Lacey Carter, Taylor and Cole Davis, Tyler and Felina Barrett, Taylor Barrett, Trenton Leggett, Triston Leggett, Halee Leggett, Hunter Leggett, Caroline Price, and Mary Kate Price; his great-grandchildren, Eason Carter, Addie Davis, Brennen Davis, Hausen Davis, Ella Barrett, Esther Barrett, and Braylen Barrett; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Raymond Culpepper, and two brothers, Charles Price and Jody Price. He was preceded by his parents, his stepfather, E.M. Akins, and a brother, Jerry Mack Price.
