William Lestie Poole

March 12, 1928 — July 21, 2006

William Lestie Poole, 78, of Valdosta, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after several years of declining health. He was born on March 12, 1928 in Valdosta, son of the late Lestie and Meakie LeMaster Poole. Mr. Poole was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was associated with Valdosta Coca-Cola Company for 45 years retiring as production manager in 1990. In his retirement, he enjoyed his family and farming.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Iris Moore Poole, one son and daughter in law, Philip and Kathi Poole, two daughters and sons in law, Maureen and Eddie Collins, Amy and Terry Creasy, five grandchildren, Patrick Poole, Philip Poole, Meghan Collins Hempe, Justin Collins and Kylee Creasy, all of Valdosta, two sisters in law, LaVerne Huda of Marietta, GA and Anne Gunter of Valdosta, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 23, 2006 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford and Reverend Stephen Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from seven until nine p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
