William Layne (Bill) Register

William Layne (Bill) Register, 60, of Valdosta died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 22, 1958 in Sumter, SC. Bill was owner and operator of Register and Son Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knight’s of Columbus. Bill was a member of the Valdosta Men’s Bowling League at Jac’s Lanes for over thirty years. He taught confirmation students for sixteen years at St. John’s where he loved his kids and teaching them. Bill was an avid trivia player on Thursday night at Wooden Nickel Pub. He loved his family. Bill graduated from Lowndes High School in 1976 and Valdosta State College in 1982.
He is survived by his wife of thirty four years, Kathy Register, son, Zach Register (Annika) and mother, Sandy Register all of Valdosta. He loved his parents extended family and Kathy’s family. Bill is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ivey Register, grandfather, D. G. Register, grandmother, Doris Smith Register and numerous other extended Smith and Register families.
A rosary will be said Monday, November 5, 2018 at six p. m. at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church followed by visitation until eight p. m. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at eleven a. m. at the church. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to St. John’s Youth Group or to Jac’s Lanes Youth Bowlers.
