William L. (Bill) Parmelee, Jr.

William L. (Bill) Parmelee, Jr., 78, of Valdosta died Friday, July 19, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1934 to the late William L. Parmelee, Sr. and Miriam McKonly Parmelee and had lived in Valdosta for forty years. Mr. Parmelee retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church. After retirement from the military he had worked at SAFT America, Video 2001, Valdosta Mall and First State Bank.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Kathleen F. Parmelee, one son and daughter in law, William (Bill) Parmelee, III and Katherine Califf, two daughters and sons in law, Vicky and Harry Sewell, Denise and Bobby Brogdon all of Valdosta, grandchildren, Brooke Alexander and her husband, Timmy Alexander of Valdosta, William (Bo) Parmelee IV of Valdosta, Jamie Romero and her husband, Ralph Romero of Chattanooga, TN, Nicholas Brogdon, Dusty Sewell both of Valdosta, sister, Gloria Montoyo of Bloomingburg, NY.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
