William Joseph Gilbert, Sr.

William Joseph Gilbert, Sr., 74, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on November 21, 1941, he was the son of the late, LeRoy Lewis Gilbert, Sr. and Henrietta Pincus Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert served in the U.S. Navy and retired from construction. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Simone Gilbert of Valdosta; daughter, Barbara (Allen) Emenheiser of Ocean City, New Jersey and son, William (Dawn) Gilbert, Jr. of New Jersey; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy (Beverly) Gilbert of Somers Point, New Jersey, and Frank David (Janelle) Gilbert of Speedway, Indiana.
