William Henry Lee

William Henry Lee (H. Lee), 78, of Albany, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at his home after a nine month battle with cancer.

He was born March 22, 1934 in Eastman, a son of the late William Harrison Lee and the late Betty Estelle Mullis Shurley. He moved to Remerton with his family in 1947, and had been employed at Strickland Cotton Mill as a Loom Fixer and with Aspen Tree Co. as a Tree Surgeon. In 1991 he moved to Albany with his wife, Faye Fountain Lee.

Mr. Lee was of the Methodist faith. He loved his family, his children, and his dogs. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, vegetable gardening and sharing his produce with others.

In addition to his wife, Faye Fountain Lee of Albany, he is survived by his children, Scottie Lee and wife Tina of Valdosta, Delinda Murray and husband Tony of Valdosta, Diane Rachel and husband Loyd of Georgetown, and Michael Lee of Valdosta; two step-sons, Don Coffey, Jr. and wife Marsha of Albany, and Dale Coffey of Athens, AL; fourteen grandchildren, Stacy, Nancy, William, B.J., Keith, Kimberley, Toni, Tara, Dewayne, Amy, Jason, Don III, Holly and Joshua; seventeen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his canine companions, Lady, Ringo, Bam Bam, and Pebbles. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ottis Lee; and two brothers, Buddy Lee and Howard Freeman.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Lee will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta, with Pastor Joey Castleberry and Minister of the Gospel Delinda Lee Murray officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
