William F. "Bill" Stripling, Sr., 93, of Hahira died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Colquitt County, GA on April 12, 1922 to the late Franklin Monroe Stripling and Della Hires Stripling. Mr. Stripling was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. He was a mobile home salesman and worked at Ivey's The Man's Shop. Mr. Stripling loved working in his yard.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Judy and Calvin Williams, his son and daughter in law, Richard and Linda Stripling all of Hahira, seven grandchildren, DeWayne Stripling (Melissa), David Stripling (Michelle), Michael Williams, Amy Whiddon (Preston), William III (Bill) Stripling (Rebecca), Christopher Stripling and Sean Stripling and ten great grandchildren. Mr. Stripling is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Futch Stripling, his son, William F. (Billy) Stripling, Jr., one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, 2015 at three thirty p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Wayne Boykin and Reverend Phillip Badley officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery near Berlin, GA. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
