William David Wilson

William David Wilson, 68, of Dasher passed away at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born August 20, 1946 in Lakeland, FL to the late L.E. and Mattie Edwards Wilson and after serving in the United States Air Force he went to work for Tampa Electric for 35 years. Upon his retirement, David and his wife moved to the Dasher area where they had lived for the past 11 years. David enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time and was known to many of his friends as "Snake", for his ability to find the reptile. He also enjoyed working and maintaining his and his neighbor's lawn. David Wilson was a Mason, Shriner, a member of the Scottish Rite, Zendah Grotto, and the V.F.W. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

David is survived by his wife of 26 and a half years, Judy Tison Wilson of Dasher, GA; a son, Richard Cochran of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Glenda Faye Wilson Husted and Kathy Darlene Wilson Rigsby, both of Auburndale, FL; two grandchildren, Barbara Ann Gill and Emily Marie Gill, both of Ashtabula, OH; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Peggy Wisenbaker of Dasher, Wanda Tison, Evie and Larry Tison all of Valdosta, GA; father-in-law, Richard James Pritchard of Valdosta; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and a large extended family, and many close special friends. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Myrtice Tison Pritchard; four brothers-in-law, Al Tison, Jerry Tison, Ronny Wisenbaker, and Chuck Husted.

Services for David Wilson will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Corinth Baptist Church with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
