William Carvon, Herrin

November 16, 1932 — April 18, 2010

William C. Herrin, 77, of Echols County died at the Holly Hill Nursing Home on Sunday, April 18, 2010 after a long illness. He was born in Pearson, Georgia on November 16, 1932 to the late Wayne and Gussie Carvon Herrin and had lived in Echols County most of his life. Mr. Herrin retired from Georgia Power Company. He served in the army during the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, Greg Herrin of Echols County; stepdaughter, Pamala Miller of Pensacola, FL; sister & brother in law, Retha & Leroy Bennett, Perry; sister, Winnie Looney, LaGrange; two step-grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Herrin, son, Mark Herrin, two sisters, Creasy Hackney, Marjorie Herrin, two brothers, Mack Herrin, Bud Herrin.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Echols County with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. McLane Lakewood Funeral Home
