Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Jr.

Thomas Rogers, 75, of Barney died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at his home. He was born on June 15, 1933 in Brooks County to Vivian Lewis Rogers and the late Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Brooks County. Mr. Rogers was an inspector with the Federal and State Government and a surveyor. He enjoyed working his produce stands, gardening, fishing, hunting and the computer. Mr. Rogers attended the Barney First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Alan Rogers of Hahira, two daughters and a son in law, Debbie and Richard Mitchell of Jasper, Fla. and Donna Rogers of Thomasville, a son in law, Danny Drew of Hahira, grandchildren, Chad Rogers, Ron Radney, Chase Cannady, Savannah Mitchell, Kylie Mitchell, Jessica Mitchell, Kayla Spires, Kaitlyn Rogers, Terry Sublett, Chasidy Drew, Chad Drew, Danya Drew and Jessie Drew, five great grandchildren, Caleb Radney, William Radney, Jordyn Radney, Cameron Sublett and Bailey Sublett, his mother, Vivian Rogers of Barney, brother and sister in law, David and Peggy Rogers of Quitman, former wife, Hattie Rogers of Hahira. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Sr., a daughter, Cynthia Rogers Drew, a grandson, Bryan Radney, his wife, Betty Rogers and two sisters, Linda Rogers Hickey and Marlene Rogers Folsom.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Barney First Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery.
