Wendy Saunders Rumley

Wendy Saunders Rumley, 45, of Valdosta died on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Moultrie in 1971 and has lived in this area all of her life. Wendy graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and worked with Colquitt Regional Medical Center while attending VSU. She continued with Colquitt Regional as the Assistant Director of Patient Financial Services after graduation. Following 13 years there, she began working with Southern OB/GYN in Valdosta as medical records director and recently began a new journey working with Tracie Hart Insurance Services. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Wendy impacted so many lives in positive ways. She was kind, caring, giving, always putting others happiness first, always smiling, and willing in whatever capacity, to share the Gospel and show others the way to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was her husband's queen and he treated her like one, but her true king was Jesus. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend and will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Wendy is survived by her husband of 23 years, William Rumley, and her two sons, Seth Rumley and Ian Rumley all of Valdosta; her parents, Charles and Sandra Saunders of Covington, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Adrienne Saunders of Loganville, Georgia; mother-in-law, Norma Rumley of Moultrie; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leslie and Darrel Rye of Montezuma, Georgia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rev. Douglas and Helen Rumley of Monroe, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and her father-in-law, Stan Rumley.
Service for Wendy Saunders Rumley will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ernie Jones officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
