Wayne N. Cothron

 Wayne N. Cothron, 65, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born on July 3, 1959, in Valdosta to the late Earl Jackson, Sr. and Nell Shiver Cothron and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Wayne had farmed for most of his life and had retired from the Lowndes County Public Works Department. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, riding in his new Jeep and being with his four-legged friend, Squirt. He was a member of Redland Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Wayne and Jessica; his brother, Mitchell Cothron of Valdosta; his nieces and their husbands, Angela and Jimmy Noles, Alisha and Paul McDonald, and Kim and Coy Fussell; his nephew and his wife, Mitch and Laura Cothron; several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded by a brother, Earl Jackson (Sonny) Cothron, Jr. and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Libby) Cothron and Karen Cothron.

Services for Wayne Cothron will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Redland Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Noles officiating. The burial will follow in the Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
