Warren Mcghin

Warren McGhin, 62, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Born and raised in Valdosta, he was a graduate of Valdosta High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam conflict and was a graduate of Valdosta State University. Mr. McGhin worked for 25 years as a computer systems sales and development for Unisys Corporation in Atlanta. His job took him to many states and businesses around the southeast. He retired from Unisys a few years ago and has lived back in Lowndes County for the past year.

Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Meredith & Gary Crosby of Valdosta; his mother, Miriam Fletcher of Valdosta; three brothers and two sisters in law, Jim & Janet McGhin of Statesboro, Donnie Edward McGhin, and Frank & Darla Fletcher all of Valdosta. Also surviving are two grandsons, Ethan Warren Crosby and Brandon DeWayne Crosby, both of Valdosta; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mr. McGhin is preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Ralph & Audrey McGhin and his stepfather Frank Fletcher.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. McGhin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Dasher Church of Christ. Mr. David Nelson will officiate. The burial of the cremains will occur at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery at a later time. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday, July 7, 2012.
