Wanda Marie Mitchell Tison

Wanda Marie Mitchell Tison, 67, of Valdosta died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her home. She was born in Valdosta on June 6, 1951 to the late Andrew Jackson and Jewell Kemp Mitchell. Mrs. Tison was a Baptist. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved helping others. Mrs. Tison enjoyed working in her yard and attending music hall dances.
Survivors include her son, Jerrell Kevin Tison of Valdosta; three daughters and sons in law, Sheryl Lynn and Mike Usic of Valdosta, Deana Marie and Chad Kinsley of Wamego, KS, Theresa Dawn and Jamie Gandy of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Dillan Turner Tison, Devin Tanner Tison, Michael John Usic, Logan Christopher Usic, Brooke Marie Kinsley, Amber Lee Kinsley, Chassity Lynn Griffin Gandy, Baylee Savannah Gandy; step grandchildren, Jason Cooner, Quinley Cooner, Whitney Sparks, Aaron Sparks; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her sister, Kim Starling of Valdosta; her brothers and sister in law, Andrew Mitchell, Jr. of Valdosta, Anthony and Lesa Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL; sisters in law and brother in law, Judy Wilson, Peggy Wisenbaker, Larry and Evie Tison all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Turner Tison and a sister, Linda Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, August 17, 2018 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman.
