Wanda Jean Barrs

WANDA JEAN BARRS, 57 of Gainesville, Georgia and formerly of Lowndes County died Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was born on November 19, 1950 in Hahira to the late Willie M. and Mildred Simmons Thomas. Mrs. Barrs was a Baptist.

Survivors include her children, Starr Mauk of Pennsylvania, David Wilkes, Robert Wilkes both of Deland, Fla., Shane Wilkes of Valdosta and Beth Hale of Gainesville, GA., grandchildren, Sarah Rose Ocker, Katie Nicole Ocker, Hunter D. Wilkes, Alaysia T. Wilkes, Caleb C. Wilkes, brothers, Russell Thomas of Quitman, Willie (Buddy) Thomas of Prosperity, SC., Benny Thomas of Valdosta and Willie (Buddy) Thomas, Jr. of Gainesville, GA., sisters, Fran Hansard, Clara Mae Townsend, Judy Burnette and Samantha Brookshire all of Gainesville, GA., special friend and devoted father to their children, Thomas Wilkes of Deland, Fla. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dalton Wilkes, a brother, Johnny Patterson and sister, Bonnie Lee Thomas.
