Wanda C. Register

Wanda C. Register died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, in the Solace Center at John F. Keever Hospice, following a two- year battle with recurrent breast cancer.Ms. Register was born in Valdosta and was the daughter of the late Lemuel E. and Mildred T., “Millie” Cothern of Twin Lakes. She had been a resident of Asheville for over 20 years, and she had been employed by the law offices of McGuire, Wood and Bissette for the past 15 years; most recently as their accounting manager.She is survived by her brother, Lemuel J. “Zeke” Cothern of Moultrie; her sister, Sylvia C. Najem of Asheville; a very dear friend, John Comrie of Asheville; two nieces, Matrosa Najem of Houston , Texas and Jenny Leigh Cothern of Moultrie.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta under the direction of Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building 1 Asheville, NC 28801.
