Walter S. Bazemore, 79, of Lake Park passed away Thursday, March 30, 2022 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on April 22, 1942 in Atkinson County, GA to the late Robert Eustis (Rob) Bazemore and Miriam Elizabeth Smith Bazemore. Walter served in the United States Army and was a self-employed machinist with Sunbelt Machine Inc. He was a member of Abundant Life Church of God. Walter loved spending time with his granddaughters, stock car racing and enjoyed time on his farm in Atkinson County.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Powell Bazemore, son, Walt Bazemore, granddaughters, Lilli Bazemore and Caroline Bazemore all of Lake Park and sister, Betty Ann Bazemore of Bradenton, FL. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Lee Bazemore and sister, Velma Smith Bazemore.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at two p. m. at Abundant Life Church of God with Reverend Wayne Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends from twelve thirty p. m. until service time at the church. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P. O.
