Wallace Herbert Deloach

June 21, 1932 — July 20, 2013

Wallace Herbert DeLoach, 81, of Valdosta, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 21, 1932 in Valdosta, a son of the late Cobbie and Fred DeLoach, Sr. Wallace attended Gordon Military School in Barnesville through high school and Junior College. He graduated from Mercer University in Macon, followed by Louisville Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Bachelor of Divinity Degree and a Master's Degree. He went on to Louisville Presbyterian Seminary earning a Doctorate of Ministries Degree.

After Pastoring in Louisville, KY at Buechel Park Baptist Church and Hurstbourne Baptist Church, of which he helped to form and was the Church's first Pastor, Wallace moved back to Valdosta where he was employed as a Therapist at The Center for Personal and Family Growth.

He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and will be greatly missed by his family and the community.

Wallace is survived by his wife of thirty years, Judy Lewis DeLoach of Valdosta; five children, Kay DeLoach of Louisville, KY, Robert DeLoach of Studio City, CA, Teresa Hudson and husband Robert of Valdosta, Jon DeLoach and wife Jaimie of Columbus, and Kathy Bennett and husband Chad of Valdosta; six grandchildren, Brandie Hudson, Briggs DeLoach, Austin Hudson, Nathalie DeLoach, Brandon Bennett and Brooke Bennett; one brother, Fred DeLoach, Jr. of Valdosta; a nephew, Fred DeLoach III (Butch) and wife Holly of Atlanta; and a niece, Beth DeLoach Meeks and husband Kenny of Valdosta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Frances DeLoach.

The Funeral Service for Mr. DeLoach will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
