Waldo Rogers, 82, of Jasper, Florida died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 26, 1929 in Berrien County to the late Ed and Irene Floyd Rogers. Mr. Rogers was of the Baptist Faith and he was a self employed building contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Rogers of Jasper, Fla., son and daughter in law, Roy Waldo and Sybil Rogers of Jasper, Fla., three grandchildren, Jennifer (Stephen) Andrews, Denise (Clint) Selph and April (Laddie) DeRocco, ten great grandchildren, Sarah, Audrey, Anna, Sebastian, Rachel, Catherine, Miles, Ellie and John Ezra and Liam, one brother, Elmer Rogers of Valdosta, one sister, Mona Mottola of Tampa, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John L., Sam and Ernest, his sisters, Golda, Madelyn and Kate.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Jasper First Baptist Church with the Rev. Laddie DeRocco officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery with Reverend Keith Sandlin officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
