W. J. White, 87, of Valdosta died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Cook County on December 21, 1921 to the late James C. and Ruby Sellars White and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Mr. White attended Clyattville Baptist Church for many years and was a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha White, a grandson, Justin White and three sisters, Corrine Terry, Clara Mae Covington and Dallas Vann.
Survivors include his wife the former, Chloe Fuller of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, James and Evelyn White of Stockton, Johnny and Donna White of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Vickie and Paul McDonald of Statenville, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five stepchildren, numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews, two brothers and sisters in law, Paul and Anna White of Valdosta, Thomas and Stella White of Garden City, GA., one sister, Mary Ellen Monk of Lakeland.
Graveside services will be held at 3pm, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Benevolence Cemetery with the Rev. James Stringer and Rev. Charlie Scarborough officiating.
