Voncile Allen Carter, 80, of Naylor died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on September 30, 1932 in Withers, Georgia to the late Brooks and Flonnie Stone Allen and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Carter was retired from South Georgia Medical Center as a financial clerk, was a loving mother and homemaker. Mrs. Carter was a faithful member of the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church for fifty six years.
Survivors include her children, Allen and Jennifer Carter of Naylor, Debbie Carter Anderson of Valdosta, Donna and Terry Snellgrove of Lake Park, five grandchildren, Seth Hodge, Tyler and AnnElise Snellgrove, Sayward Snellgrove Gibbs, Austen Carter and Cameron Carter, great grandchildren, Tayten Snellgrove, Mackenzie Snellgrove, Kenley Gibbs, brothers and sister in law, Ronald Allen of Naylor, Randy and Sherry Allen of Thomasville, sister and brother in law, Linda and Glenn Parrott of Quitman, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty five years, Raymond (Bud) Carter and a sister, Tootsie Allen Grant.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dwight Marshall, Elder Bob Dickerson and Elder Lynwood Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
