Vivian Lewis Rogers, 94, of Barney died Thursday, November 17, 2009 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. She was born on July 14, 1915 to the late John Richard and Pearl Ella Adams Lewis and had lived most of her life in Brooks County. Mrs. Rogers was an active member and worker of the Barney First Baptist Church until her health declined. She was a member of the Morven Garden Club and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Charles David and Peggy Rogers of Quitman, one sister, Willene Dell of Baxley, 15-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Sr., a son, Wilbur Thomas Rogers, Jr., two daughters, Marlene Rogers Folsom and Linda Rogers Hickey, three grandchildren, Keith Folsom, Cindy Drew and Alan Rogers, 15-brohters and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Barney First Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery.
