Vivian Elizabeth Jones

Vivian Elizabeth Jones, 88, of Valdosta passed away surrounded by her family on February 20, 2016. She was born in Macon, GA on March 5, 1927 to the late George W. and Mamie Lou Stapleton. She was educated at Young Harris College and retired from Clyattville Elementary after almost 20 years. Vivian loved to laugh and have a good time with her friends. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling and attending gospel singings. For over 27 years she lived at Azalea Towers. 15 of those years were spent as a monitor and she leaves behind many friends that she met there. Miss Jones was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended Azalea City Church of God.

Vivian is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, DJ Nicholson of Hahira, Sharon and Terry Sellars of Ludowici, GA; her son and partner Wayne Jones and Jo Saccente of Springfield, TN; six grandchildren, Laurie and Jeff DeLoach of Valdosta, DeAnna Nicholson and Michael Smith of Merriam, KS, Jessica and Alan Nichols of New Braunfels, TX, Leah and Paul Massey of Jesup, GA, Jared and Heather Sellars of Pensacola, FL, Matthew and Arlyn Sellars of Ludowici, GA; ten great grandchildren, Amber, Carter, Abby, Carson, Aimee, Maddie, Dixie, Aidan, Taylor, and Sophie; her niece, Cathy and Tommie Jones of Macon, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Hannah Sellars; her son-in-law, Donnie Nicholson; her brother, G.W. Stapleton.

A graveside service for Vivian Elizabeth Jones will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
