Virginia Sirmans Hancock

Virginia Sirmans Hancock was welcomed to her home in Heaven on April 3, 2024, at the age of 94 after a lengthy illness.

Virginia blessed her family with love and support all her life and she will be deeply missed, never forgotten.

She was married to the love of her life, Morris Hancock Sr. in 1947 until his death in 1990.

She was a wife and mother above and beyond all else. Her professional career was her great love of nursing for many years at SGMC and later in the office of Dr. William Nijem until her retirement. She was a member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church and loved her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vernon Sirmans; sister, Velita Hodges; son-in-law, Tony Davis.

She is survived by her daughters, Gwen Keene and Dora Davis; son, Morris Hancock Jr. all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Gina (Roy) Hoffman of Eustis, FL., Dana (Tommy) Cook of Valdosta, Melisa (Brent) Evans of Valdosta; great-grandchildren, Justice Keene, Kierstin Foy, Aedan Foley, Thomas (Kirbi) Cook, Danielle Cook, Ashlynn Evans, Braxton Evans; great-great grandchildren, Zayden Kassum, Xander Kassum, Raelyn Carr; sister, Nadine Merwin of Brooks County; brother, Larry (Linda) Mancil of Summerfield, FL and sister-in-law, Betty Jones of Brooks County.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 12 P.M. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11-12 P.M.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Lakeland Villa, Dr. Bruce Herrington and Hospice of South Georgia for the compassionate care provided for the past several years.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Dr. Valdosta, GA 31602.
