Virginia "Digie" Smith Mcquaig

Virginia “Digie” Smith McQuaig, 81, of Valdosta died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 14, 1936 in Shelbyville, Tennessee to the late J. B. and Lucile Beech Smith and lived in Valdosta for many years. She was member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McQuaig was a legal secretary for Oris Blackburn Law Firm and then for Elliott, Elliott and Barnes Law Firm before retiring.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, Roy N. (Mac) McQuaig, Jr., Doug and Derrith McQuaig all of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Roy N. “Trey” III and Kayla McQuaig, Taylor and Brooke McQuaig, Niles McQuaig, Spencer McQuaig, Claire McQuaig; her brother and sister in law, James and Lynn Smith of Hinesville, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy N. McQuaig, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Glenda Hollingshead and Father Jim Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
