VIRGINIA CARNELL HALL CAIN, 94, of Hahira died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Lakehaven Nursing Home in Valdosta after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Cain was born on January 25, 1910 in Hahira to the late Willie and Zoa Taylor Hall and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a devout wife, mother, homemaker, gardener and a member of the Hahira First Baptist Church since the age of four years. Mrs. Cain was married to Grover Cleveland Cain for sixty one years until his death in 1985.
Survivors include her caretakers and nieces, Betty Wise Terry of Piedmont, SC and Virginia Bryan Coppage of Hahira, a sister, Inell Hall Cain of Hahira, sisters in law, Ruth Coppage Hall, Evelyn Cain both of Hahira, Ruby Cain Arnold and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jewell who died at two years of age, brothers and sisters, W. L. Hall, O. K. Hall, Harvey Hall, Colonel Joe Hall, Carmen Hall Dickerson and Louell Hall Strickland.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Monday, January 24, 2005 at Fellowship Cemetery in Cecil with the Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating.
