VINSON WILSON BOYKIN, 62 of Hahira died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Berrien County on August 23, 1943 to the late Willis and Ruby Suggs Boykin and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mr. Boykin was the greenskeeper at Moody Air Force Base and a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing and was a gifted musician.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Boykin of Hahira, his children and their spouses, Dean and Lisa Boykin of Hahira, Archie and Shannon Boykin of Waverly, Tina and Ben Moye of Hahira, Michael and Tonia Bull of Hahira, Jason and Stephanie Boykin of Adel, his grandchildren, Buck Frier, Jessi and Hannah Boykin, Corey, Lacey and Amanda Boykin, Missy Bargeron, Alexia and Taylor Bull, Jacey and Noah Boykin, great grandchildren, Jordyn Frier, Hayden and Emily Moye, brothers and sisters in law, Julian and Sharon Boykin of Hahira, Wayne and Cindy Boykin of Adel, Betty Boykin of Hahira, sisters and brothers in law, Nell and Gerald Leveille of Hahira, Lucy Couch of Macon and Myrtice and Roy Clark of Nashville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Boykin, two sisters, Mary Alice Davis and Wilma Boykin and three brothers, Bill Boykin, Gerald Boykin and Marshall Boykin.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Boykin and Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-9pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
