Victoria Leeanne Newsome

April 29, 1997 — November 6, 2005

Victoria LeeAnne Newsome, age 8, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, November 6, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Valdosta on April 29, 1997, to Lee and Margaret Anne Newsome. Victoria was many things to many different people. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Victoria was a ray of sunshine. Throughout her difficult illness she kept a wonderful attitude and was very strong. Victoria always thought of others, she never complained and she loved her family deeply.
Victoria was proud of her many accomplishments. She was proud of loosing two teeth at the same time, she was proud to have been a flower girl, she was proud when she learned to swim, ride a bike and skip a bar on the monkey bars at school. She was proud to be line leader in kindergarten, Mrs. Pumpkin in the class play, and of her successful modeling career. She was proud to learn to dance and to be a cheerleader for her brother, Travis. And later, she was proud when she learned to crawl, stand, walk, swim, write, eat, drink and dress herself all over again. She loved the color purple, flowers, broccoli and cheese, Mary-Kate and Ashley movies, Sponge Bob, The Fairly Odd Parents, Dora, Hello Kitty, Rhett Akins and Mercy Me. She liked to dig in the sand and look for seashells at the beach and she liked to go to the races with her daddy and “her kids”. She said many times that Jesus was taking care of her. She will be terribly missed and will live in the hearts of her family forever.
She is survived by her parents, Lee and Margaret Anne Newsome, of Valdosta; her sister, Krista Newsome, of Valdosta; her two brothers, Travis Newsome and Ronnie Newsome, both of Valdosta; maternal grandparents, Bill & Lucille Sineath, of Valdosta, and Peggy Anderson of Valdosta; paternal grandfather, Frank Newsome of Moultrie; great grandmothers, Mrs. John Q.
