Vicky Lynn Wheeler

Vicky Lynn Wheeler passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 22, 2024. She was 68. Vicky is survived by her son Cory Michael Wheeler, daughters Colby Lynn Wheeler and Leslie White, and grandchildren Madison Griffis, Alexandria Griffis, Olivia White, and Jordan White.  In addition, survivors include her brothers Fred (Melissa) Armentrout of St. Marys, GA, Curtis (Charlotte) Armentrout of Valdosta, Lewis Armentrout of Valdosta, and Travis Armentrout of Peachtree City, GA.

Vicky is predeceased by her husband, Johnny Earl Wheeler, her parents, Barbara J. and Fred Armentrout, Sr., and her sister, Frances Laverne Armentrout.

A proud “military brat”, Vicky grew up throughout the United States and settled for her adult life in Valdosta. A graduate of Valdosta High School and Valdosta State University, she enjoyed a long career in nursing at South Georgia Medical Center.

Many abandoned dogs and cats experienced a renewed life due to Vicky’s love of animals, and that love has been extended to her brothers and children. Vicky also enjoyed music and working in her yard. All who knew Vicky are richer for it.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at 12noon on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11-12pm.
