Verna Webb Amerson, 84, of Hahira passed away at home Friday, February 5, 2021 after an illness of six years. She was born on September 11, 1936 in Hahira to the late E. E. “Buck” Webb and Viola Corbett Webb. Mrs. Amerson was retired from the Department of Defense at Moody Air Force Base. She was a member of Hahira United Methodist Church. Mrs. Amerson enjoyed raising chihuahua’s and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Amerson of Hahira, daughter, Kathy Weldon of Valdosta, sons and daughters in law, Tommy and Angela Kenny and Bobby and Sandi Kenny, all of Hahira, grandchildren, Kelley Hollifield (Nathan), Carey Weldon (John Roberts), Ashleigh Kenny, Trey Kenny, Nathan Kenny and Spencer Kenny, two great grandchildren, J. R. and Patrick. Mrs. Amerson is predeceased by her granddaughter, Kaycee Kenny and her parents, Buck Webb, Viola Webb Merwin and Bill Merwin.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at two p. m. at Friendship Cemetery with Reverend Frank Gupton officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from four until six p. m. Sunday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
