Verna Tyler Glass

Verna Tyler Glass, of Hahira died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Cook Senior Living Center in Adel after a lengthy illness. She was born in Hahira to the late Gordon C. and Minnie Weldon Tyler. Mrs. Glass was retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee as the registrar. She loved playing bridge, traveling, entertaining and decorating her Christmas trees. She was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sister and brother in law, Sylvia and James Parker of Hahira, her nieces and nephews, Ray (Penny) Parker, Missy (Troy) Davis, Joey (Sherry) Parker, Mike Lewis all of Hahira, Danny Tyler, Dana Jo Davis both of Atlanta, stepdaughter and stepson in law, Carolyn and Fred Schmidt of Escondido, Calif., stepgrandchildren, Sandra Peterson of Denver, CO, Christina (Kyle) Green of Shady Shores, TX, Kathy (Bobby) Darnell of Sierra Vista, AZ, Janet (Bruce) Thompson of Ridge Crest, Calif., Scott Glass of Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Glass, brother and sisters in law, Dan C. and Nell Tyler, Betty Tyler, sisters and brothers in law, Mae T. and Arthur Johnson, Harold Hall, Virginia and Raymond Lewis, a niece, Jerrilyn Rollins, a nephew, Genon Tyler and a stepson, Gerald W. Glass.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Heyward Hiers officiating.
