Vermont Genell Griffin Fletcher, 71 of Valdosta died on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Wynhoven Healthcare Center in Marrero, LA. Born on September 17, 1933 in Alapaha, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Eunice Luke Griffin and widow of Bobby Earl Fletcher. Mrs. Fletcher was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Edward Romero of Marrero, LA; sons and daughter-in-law, Sidney Fletcher of Cocoa Beach, FL, Gregory and Diane Fletcher of Ramstein AFB in Germany, Jeffrey Fletcher of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jeramy, Justin, Alec, Christopher and Courtney Fletcher, Alexandra Romero and Crystal Bair; sisters, Edith Fletcher of Sparks, GA, Burnett Voge of Phoenix, AZ, Burnell Boyd of Tifton, GA, Mae Brooks of Fitzgerald, GA and one brother, Leonard Griffin of Ocilla, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Ocilla with Elder Charles Tyson and Elder Herman Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Valley Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 2:30 p.m. until service time.
