Vera Williams Peacock, 68, of Nashville, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at her residence. She was born on March 23, 1939 in Brooks County to the late Elbert Barry and Juanita Spell Williams. Mrs. Peacock was a grocery store cashier.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Peacock of Nashville, one daughter, Wanda Peacock of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Bobby and Debbie Peacock of Ray City, three grandchildren, Justin Peacock, Krystal Peacock and Jessie Peacock, three sisters and one brother in law, Evelina Taylor of Lakeland, FL, Madeline Guess of Moultrie, Carol and Tim Shirley of Quitman, two brothers and one sister in law, Gerald and Vivian Williams of Quitman and Randy Williams of Tifton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Peacock is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Barry Williams, James Williams and Charles Williams and one sister, Martha Nell Suttles.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2007 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Dr. Bobby Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Hill Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 22, 2007 from four until six p. m. at the funeral home.
