Velma Juanell Wheeler Long

Velma Juanell Wheeler Long, 77, of Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at her home. She was born on February 9, 1935 in Nachtee, Florida to the late Lloyd Carroll and Zola Irene Barrs Wheeler. Mrs. Long was a member of the Church of God and was raised in Echols County.

Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Powell.

Survivors include five sons, Ray Powell of Ashland City TN., Robert Powell of Broadhead, WI., Tommy Powell of Lebanon, TN., Henry Powell of Land O'Lakes, Fla., Emory Powell of Tennessee Ridge, TN., three brothers, Cliff Wheeler of Port Charlotte, Fla., Ray Wheeler of Arcadia, Fla., Lloyd Wheeler of Statenville and one sister, Vivian Pamer of Jasper, Fla., sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Bethel Church of God with Pastor Daryl Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Echols County.
