USAF CMSgt (Ret) Rolland "Ray" Wallis, 81 of Valdosta passed away at Pruitt Health Care on Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born on March 24, 1934 in Temple, OK to the late John Phillip and Eva Lawson Wallis. Ray was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. He served during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Ray was a member of the local American Legion and V.F.W.

Ray Wallis is survived by his daughter, Flora R. Beaman of Valdosta; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Imgard Wallace of San Antonio, TX, Howard and Marcine Wallis of Minco, OK, Calvin and Charlotte Wallis of Edmond, OK; three sisters, Armelda Barker of Weatherford, TX, Romero Welch and Mary Faye Jenkins both of Oklahoma City, OK; several nieces and nephews, In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Pat Wallis and four brothers.
