TSgt John Wayne Daniel USAF Ret, 77, of Lowndes County, GA died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 16, 1937 in Lake City, Columbia County, FL to the late John Lewis Daniel and Mary Louise Studstill Daniel. Mr. Daniel attended and graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1955. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1976 and then worked for twenty years in civil service at Moody Air Force Base. Mr. Daniel was an active member of Ray City First Baptist Church. He was a Mason.
Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife of twenty eight years, Nell T. Daniel of Lowndes County, daughter, Amanda Dockery of Charleston, SC, son, Mark Wayne Daniel of Salisbury, NC, three step daughters and their spouses, Janice and Leonard Dicks of Lake City, FL, Charlotte and Dawson Robertson of Jacksonville, FL and Cindi and Eric Postell of Adel, GA, eight grandchildren, Michael Dockery, Brandon Dockery, Brad Dicks (Lynsee), Justin Dicks, Lee Dicks (Jessica), Travis Taylor (Pamela), Jessica Knight (David) and Hailey Waller, six great grandchildren, two sisters in law, Carolyn Daniels and Sara Touchton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Alex Williams and his brother, Norman Daniels.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Robbie Peay and Reverend Tim Van Landingham officiating. The family will receive friends from one until two p. m. Saturday. Burial with military honors will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Ray City First Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 6, Ray City, GA 31645.
