Troy L. Black

Troy L. Black, 76, of Lake Park, passed away peacefully at sunrise during his favorite part of the day Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home. He was born on July 9, 1932 in Cordele, GA to the late Troy Lucian and Annie Lou Jones Black. Mr. Black was an insurance salesman with AFLAC for fourty one years, was a United States Army veteran and a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Black of Lake Park, one son and daughter in law, Troy Black Jr. and Karen Black of Lake Park, two daughters and one son in law, Vickie Black of Jennings, FL and Cindy and Chad Bentley of Warner Robins, three grandsons, Kyle Black, Cole Bentley and Keaton Bentley, one brother and sister in law, Gerald and Mary Ann Black of Forest Park, GA, one sister and brother in law, Karen and Wayne Carter of Cordele, his mother in law, Carolyn Barron of Perry, GA, several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Mr. Black is predeceased by three brothers, Ivan Black, Jimmy Black and Lamar Black and his father in law, L. C. Barron.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2008 at two p. m. at Forrest Park Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Youth Department at Forrest Park Church of Christ, 4263 Inner Perimeter Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
