Trisha Annette (Harnage) Johnston, 58, passed away at Pruitt Health – Valdosta Nursing Home on April 24, 2024, after an extended illness. She was born February 27, 1966, at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta to Nancy J. Harnage of Hahira, GA, and the late Thomas A. Harnage.
Trisha grew up in both Valdosta and Adel, GA. A 1984 graduate of Cook High School, she was a varsity cheerleader and on the drill team in the marching band. She attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA, for two years before transferring to Valdosta Technical Institute (now Wiregrass Technical College), where she received a cosmetology certificate in 1988. She worked as a cosmetologist for eight years before attending Valdosta State University, where she graduated with honors with a degree in Communications in 1996. She worked for several years in public relations and communications in Thomasville, Valdosta, and Hahira. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church most of her life. Trisha enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Jarrett Johnston, of Valdosta, who was the light of her life; her mother; her siblings and in-laws: Gerald (Lorraine) Harnage of Hiawassee, GA; Kenneth (Brigitte) Harnage of Vail, IA; Kristine (David) Phillips of Suwanee, GA; and her niece, Mary Katharine Phillips, also of Suwanee, GA; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health – Valdosta and Pruitt Health Hospice for the excellent care Trisha received.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA. Fr. Robert Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta. at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 4, 2024, with visitation from 1:30-2:30 p.m., before the funeral at the same location. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Pruitt Health Hospice, 407 Cowart Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31602.
